Overview
The AMI 6047KL is a black aluminum billet fuel door cover, part number 6047KL, for Ram trucks. It fits 2012–2018 Ram 1500 and 2013–2017 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500, and it replaces the factory fuel filler door with a machined metal cover.
The cover is machined from a single solid piece of 6061-T6 aircraft billet aluminum. It has a patented tension spring for smooth, even tension through the full opening, and a locking door for added security. It is a direct fit.

Keeping a black aluminum cover clean
Black aluminum fuel door covers collect water spots, fingerprints and road film, which show up more on dark finishes than on lighter ones. Wiping the cover after washes keeps it looking uniform. Use a soft cloth with mild soap and water, and dry it fully so mineral deposits do not form on the surface.
The locking door needs the same attention as any lock on the truck. Grit that works into the opening can slow the mechanism, so brush it out during routine cleaning. Check the cover closes flush after each fill-up, and keep the key where it is easy to find. If the finish begins to scuff, clean the area and treat small marks before they spread.
