Description

Overview

The TeraFlex 1213000 is a 3-inch Sport ST3 suspension system for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler (JK) 2-door, in the 70th Anniversary, 75th Anniversary, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, Sport S and X trims. TeraFlex builds the ST3 on its 2.5-inch Sport ST2 by adding preset rear upper and rear lower Sport flexarms and SpeedBump progressive bump stops.

The ST3 clears the same tire size as the 2.5-inch ST2 while adding ground clearance from its rear upper and rear lower flexarms and bump stops. It suits black diamond trails as well as city streets. The six preset flexarms and the heavy-duty front track bar and rear track bar bracket set caster and pinion angles for lifts of 2.5 to 3 inches, so no alignment is needed. The system raises ground clearance without giving up on-road or off-road capability, and the preset arms simplify installation.

Key features

  • Six preset Sport flexarms
  • SpeedBump progressive bump stops
  • Heavy-duty front track bar
  • Rear track bar bracket
  • Maintenance-free design, per TeraFlex

Bump stops and tire clearance

Progressive bump stops limit how far the suspension can compress before the axle reaches the frame. They soften the final part of a hard landing and reduce the chance of a sudden jolt on rough trails. Because the stops work with the coil springs, their condition should be checked whenever the springs or shocks are serviced.

Tire clearance depends on more than the lift. Wheel offset, tire width and steering lock all affect how much room is left at full turn and full compression. Before adding larger tires, review steering stops, sway bar links and brake hose length, since each can limit the usable range once the suspension is raised.

  • Inspect bump stops for cracks or flattening
  • Check brake hose length after the lift
  • Review steering lock before larger tires
  • Inspect sway bar links for binding

Questions & Answers

Does the 1213000 need an alignment after installation?

TeraFlex says no, because the six preset flexarms set the caster and pinion angles for 2.5 to 3 inch lifts. Check the driveline angles anyway, since the rear arms change the axle position.

How is it different from the Sport ST2?

The ST3 adds preset rear upper and rear lower Sport flexarms and SpeedBump bump stops, which increases ground clearance while keeping the same tire size as the 2.5-inch ST2.

Does it fit a 2-door JK from 2009?

Yes. It fits the 2007–2018 2-door Wrangler JK, which covers 2009, in the 70th Anniversary, 75th Anniversary, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, Sport S and X trims.

Should brake lines be checked after a lift?

Yes. Lifting changes the distance between the frame and the axle, which can stretch brake hoses and wiring. Inspect the lines and sensor leads after installation and again after the first trail outing, and adjust brackets if they look tight.
