Upper grille fit and clearance
The upper grille sits at the top of the front opening, where it works with the hood, the headlight housings and the radiator airflow. When an upper grille is replaced, the surrounding trim and clips should line up with the new piece. Look at the gaps along the top edge and the sides before final tightening, because uneven gaps usually point to a position issue rather than a faulty grille.
Because this grille needs cutting, consider the cut before the paint is disturbed. Mask nearby surfaces, cut from the back where possible, and keep the powder-coat intact on the visible face. Once the grille is seated, check that the hood closes without catching and that the grille does not press against the hood latch or headlight edges. Adjust the mounting points as needed.
