Overview
The Rubicon Express RE9920 is a front crossmember kit for the Jeep Cherokee (XJ) long arm system, from 1984 to 2001. It is the front control arm mount used in the Rubicon Express RE6300 long arm kit.

Welding and fabrication considerations
Welding a crossmember onto a unibody requires good prep, including clean metal, correct fit-up and a plan for heat. Position the mount with the long arm parts in place before tacking, so the suspension geometry is set correctly when the welds cool. Keep welds short and let the metal cool between passes to limit warping on the body.
The black powder coat will burn off near the weld, so touch up the bare areas with paint afterward to limit rust. After welding, inspect each joint for cracks and confirm the long arm moves freely through its range. Because the XJ long arm system depends on the unibody flexing as designed, the finished installation should be checked before the vehicle sees serious trail use.
