Description

Overview

The Rough Country RC601 is a 1.25-inch body lift for 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-door models. It gives an extra quarter inch of tire clearance compared with the 1-inch body lifts most other makers sell. The spacers nest with the factory body mounts, which keeps the body aligned with the frame and keeps the factory mounts’ noise and vibration damping.

The kit includes rear bumper brackets and a shifter adapter. The adapter lets owners run any 1-inch or 1.25-inch body lift on a JK with a manual transmission without cutting the inner shift boot, and it restores the shifter length lost when the body is raised. The spacers are fiberglass reinforced nylon.

The RC601 fits 4-door models only, so 2-door JKs are not a fit. The rear bumper brackets require the standard factory bumper.

Key features

  • 1.25-inch body lift for extra tire clearance
  • Spacers nest with factory body mounts
  • Keeps factory noise and vibration damping
  • Shifter adapter for manual transmission JKs, per Rough Country
  • Rear bumper brackets included
  • Fiberglass reinforced nylon spacers

Choosing a lift and its parts

A 1.25-inch body lift is a modest change, but it still moves the body away from the frame and stretches anything that runs between them. On a JK, that includes the brake lines, the wiring harness, the shifter and in some cases the driveshaft angle. Reviewing these components after installation is more useful than assuming a small lift needs nothing.

The shifter adapter and rear bumper brackets are the parts that make this kit more than a set of spacers. Owners often replace worn body mounts and check the fender liners at the same time, since the body moves on the mounts. Looking over the hardware at regular service intervals helps catch loosening before it becomes a rattle or a shift problem.

  • Shifter adapter fit and shift feel
  • Rear bumper bracket clearance
  • Brake hose and wiring slack
  • Body mount condition
  • Fender liner clearance

Questions & Answers

Does the RC601 fit a 2-door Jeep Wrangler JK?

No. It is made for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-door models only, so 2-door models do not fit.

Does the RC601 fit a manual transmission JK?

Confirm fit for your transmission type before ordering. The shifter adapter is included for manual JKs, so the inner shift boot does not need to be cut.

How much lift does the RC601 give?

It is a 1.25-inch body lift, an extra quarter inch over the standard 1-inch lifts many makers sell. It gives more tire clearance than a 1-inch lift.

Do body lifts need longer brake lines or driveshaft work?

Sometimes. The body moves but the drivetrain and brake lines stay fixed, so check the driveshaft angle, brake hoses and wiring after installation. Look for binding, vibration or tight hoses and address them before driving far.

How often should body lift mounts be checked?

Check them at each oil change or tire rotation. Look for cracked rubber, loose bolts, and signs the body is shifting or creaking over bumps, then retighten or replace worn hardware.
