Leaf spring lift considerations
Leaf spring suspensions often use lift blocks because they are simple to install and do not need a new spring pack. A block raises the axle by moving the spring pack up, which also changes shock angles and brake line length. Because the spring still carries the load, the pack’s condition matters a great deal before any lift is added.
A worn spring pack, a bent shackle or a sagging axle will limit the result. Before buying, look at the spring pack’s arch, the shackles and the bushings. Many owners also check the shocks, sway bar links and the driveline after the block is installed to confirm everything still moves freely.
