Rocker molding clip care
Rocker molding clips hold the trim strip against the body along the lower edge of the vehicle. When one fails, the molding can lift, rattle or catch debris, and the gap can let water and dirt get behind the trim. Replacing the failed clip keeps the molding seated along its length.
Remove the old clip carefully with a trim tool, and inspect the mounting hole for damage or debris before pressing the new clip in. If the molding is bent or cracked near the clip position, replace the damaged section rather than forcing it back into place.
