- Direct fit for the CJ and Willys models covered.
- Built to the original specifications, per the brand
- Limited five year manufacturer warranty from Omix-Ada
Signs of bearing wear
A front output bearing supports the output shaft, so wear shows up as noise and play rather than as an obvious failure. Listen for a whirring or grinding noise that changes with speed, and feel for movement at the output shaft when the case is open. Metal particles in the lubricant are another sign that a bearing is breaking down.
Because the bearing works alongside the output seal and the yoke, it is worth inspecting those parts during the same job. Clean the bearing housing, check the bearing seat for wear, and use the correct driver so the new bearing seats square. Keep the lubricant clean, since debris shortens bearing life quickly after a rebuild.
- Look for metal in the lubricant
- Inspect the bearing seat
