Overview

Light mounts and wiring
A bumper with a center light mount and side mounts can carry several lights at once, so plan the total electrical load before wiring. Use a switch panel or relays so the lights draw current through the relay, not directly through the dash switch. Route all wiring along the bumper’s inner surfaces and secure it with clips away from the radiator and fan.
Light bars are usually aimed after the install, and they can shift when the bumper takes impacts. Check the mounts and the aim each season, and confirm that the lights do not blind oncoming drivers on the road. Many owners add a protective cover to the light lens for trail use.
