Working with the factory antenna
The factory antenna is a common concern on front visor and cowl brackets because the antenna base and its cable can sit close to the cowl edge. A bracket designed to keep the antenna in place reduces the chance of rubbing, but the antenna should still be checked before the truck goes back into service. Look for kinks in the mast, make sure the base is firmly seated and confirm that the mast clears the bracket through the full range of hood travel.
Wind noise and visibility are also worth considering. A front cowl changes airflow at the windshield base, so a short highway test drive and a look through the windshield from the driver seat can show whether anything has changed. Keep the cowl free of loose debris, and inspect the mounting points after rough off-road use, since vibration is a common cause of loosened fasteners on front bracket sets.
