Overview
The Crown Automotive 55020432 is a steel windshield frame for the YJ generation Jeep Wrangler. It replaces the windshield frame on that Wrangler chassis and is a direct fit for it.
The frame comes with wiper pivot holes already punched and windshield hinge thread plates installed. Replacement steel body parts are sold as is, and minor imperfections or transit damage can occur.

Rust and frame inspection
A windshield frame on an older Wrangler carries the weight of the glass and takes the stress of the hinges and the top. Corrosion often starts at the lower corners and along the seams where water sits, so a steel replacement is often chosen to restore a solid mounting point.
Before fitting the frame, check the hinge thread plates for alignment and make sure the hinge positions match the body. Clean the mating surfaces and treat bare metal with a rust-inhibiting primer. Keep glass, hinges and fasteners on hand before the job starts, because the frame alone does not complete the windshield assembly.
