The Crown Automotive T18 4 speed transmission gasket kit, part number J0923302, is a seal and gasket kit for Jeep transmissions with the Granny Low T-18 option. The kit is designed only for those units, and it will not fit any other 4 speed transmission.
The Granny Low T-18 was an optional CJ transmission from 1972 to 1979, paired with 6 or 8 cylinder AMC engines. The kit also suits 1972–79 J10, J20 and J30 Cherokee and Wagoneer transmissions, though those models are not covered by the fitment below.

Rebuild planning
A gasket kit is one part of a full transmission refresh. Seals and gaskets stop leaks at the case joints, but they do nothing for gear or synchronizer wear, so internal parts should be checked whenever the case is opened. Older Granny Low units are worth a close look at bearings and shafts before assuming the seals alone will restore the unit.
Lay each new gasket against the old one before fitting, because some kit gaskets suit other applications. Clean every mating surface with a plastic scraper, avoid nicks, and use sealant only where your shop procedure calls for it.
- Inspect synchronizer rings and hub teeth
- Check output shaft bearings for play
- Replace the rear main seal whenever the case is opened

Installation notes
The kit leaves out synchronizer parts, gears and shafts, so worn internal parts need separate replacement. Use only the gaskets your application requires, since the kit contains several extras meant for other applications.
