Overview
The Bestop PowerBoard NX, part number 75636-15, is a black retractable electric running board for the 2007–2017 Toyota Tundra in the Base, Limited, SR, SR5 and TRD Pro trims, in the Cab length. Electric motors lower each board as its door opens and raise it back under the truck when the door closes.
The NX variant adds patent pending wireless technology that controls the door functions. The controllers signal the boards to retract and drop as the doors open and shut, which avoids tapping into the factory wiring. The NX installs more quickly than the original PowerBoard.

Before you install a powered step
Running boards on a Tundra carry the weight of passengers stepping on and off, so the mounting points and arms deserve a look before the first use. Check that every bolt is seated and that the arms move without binding. A step that sits slightly out of line will wear faster and may rub the body panel as it cycles.
Think about how the step will be used. Owners who load the bed often, or who regularly drive on uneven ground, put more strain on the linkage than someone who uses the truck mainly on paved roads. Keep the travel path clear of rocks, roots and cargo, and avoid leaning on a retracted board as a standing platform.
Cold weather can slow any motorized step. If the boards move sluggishly on a cold morning, let the engine run for a few minutes before cycling them again, and check that the connectors are free of moisture.
