Overview
The Bestop PowerBoard NX 75626-15 is a black retractable electric running board for 2007–2018 GMC Sierra and 2011–2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500 HD and 3500 HD trucks. Each board stays tucked under the body while the doors are shut, then extends to meet your foot when a door opens.
The NX version is the wireless edition of the PowerBoard. Patent pending wireless technology controls the door functions, so installers do not need to tap into the factory wires for the boards to retract and drop. The design avoids conflicts with aftermarket security systems and remote starts, and installation takes less time than the original PowerBoard. It suits owners who want a powered step without rewiring the doors.

Powered step basics
A retractable electric running board moves on a motor and linkage that run every time a door opens or closes. Over time the pivot points collect road grime and grit, which can slow the travel or make it sound rougher than before. Wiping the arms and linkage periodically and applying a light lubricant to the pivots recommended for automotive hinges helps keep the motion smooth.
Ground clearance and the drop path matter as much as the step itself. Before a long trip, watch the boards cycle through a few open and close sequences with the truck parked on a flat surface. Look for anything that catches on the body, the mud flaps or a tow hitch, and keep a clear space around the step when it is moving.
Electrical connections are the other area to check. Keep the connectors dry, look for chafed insulation where cables pass through the body, and disconnect the battery before working near any wiring.

Vehicle fitment
This kit fits 2011–2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (Custom, High Country, Hybrid, LS, LT, LTZ, SSV, WT and XFE trims), 2011–2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD (High Country, LT, LTZ and WT trims), and 2007–2018 GMC Sierra 1500 (Base, Denali, Hybrid, SL, SLE, SLT, WT and XFE trims), 2500 HD and 3500 HD (Base, Denali, SLE, SLT and WT trims).
Ram, Ford and Jeep trucks are not on the list, and model years outside 2007 through 2018 are not covered. Check your truck’s model year and trim against the entries above.
Installation notes
The wireless design means the install does not involve splicing into the harness, which is the main difference from the wired original PowerBoard. Bestop says no contact with the cab interior is needed. Disconnect the battery before you work on any electrical connection.
