Overview
The AMI 6050L is a brushed aluminum billet fuel door, part number 6050L, for select Ford and Lincoln trucks and SUVs. It fits the Ford Excursion, Expedition, F-150, F-250 and F-350 Super Duty and Lincoln Navigator, with model years from 1996 to 2014.
It is machined from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum with a brushed finish. The door is a push-to-open design with a lock for added security, and no drilling is needed for installation.

Choosing a billet fuel door
A fuel door keeps dirt, water and road debris away from the filler neck, and a locking unit adds a basic barrier against casual tampering at the pump or at a trailhead. Billet aluminum covers are machined from solid stock, so their weight and thickness differ from stamped plastic or painted steel doors. Think about how often the truck sees mud, sand or ice, because a snug seal matters most in those conditions.
A brushed finish hides light scratches and fingerprints better than a polished one, which suits a work truck. Over time, check the hinge pin and spring for looseness, and wipe away grit that collects around the rim before it works into the seal.
