Fitting spring inserts safely
Spring inserts are a small part of the coil-over, but the work around them matters. Removing a factory divider means the spring is under load, so the coil-over must be supported before anything is disassembled. Work slowly and keep hands clear of the spring as it relaxes.
Once the old dividers are out, compare their shape and wear with the new inserts. The new parts should sit against the spring evenly with no gaps or tilt. Reassembly is easier when the spring seat is clean and the spring is aligned before the shock is bolted back in place.
