Crown Automotive 8.5-inch clutch kit with pressure plate, disc and bearing

A slipping clutch, a pedal that sinks to the floor or a fork that clunks on the bellhousing can leave a manual-transmission Jeep stuck at the trailhead. These factory-style clutch parts cover the kit itself plus the linkage, hydraulics and small hardware that make the pedal work.

Most parts here suit CJ-era Jeeps and their mechanical bellcrank linkage: pedal rods, bellcranks, bushings, clips, boots, adjusters and return springs. Clutch job checklist

  • Replace the disc, pressure plate and release bearing together
  • Fit a new pilot bearing or bushing in the crankshaft
  • Inspect the flywheel for heat spots and cracks; resurface or replace
  • Center the disc with an alignment tool that matches the input spline
  • Check the fork, pivot stud and boots for wear while the bellhousing is open
  • Bleed a hydraulic system, or set free play on a mechanical linkage
