Planning a harness setup
A racing-style seat only performs well when the rest of the setup supports it. Harness belts need solid anchor points, and the seat should be positioned so the belts pull straight against the body rather than across the bolsters. Plan the seat position, belt path and anchor locations together before final tightening.
Textured vinyl with high-wear patches resists scuffing from frequent entry and exit, but the edges of the bolsters still take the most abuse. Wipe away grit regularly and check the stitching at the bolster seams. Small tears are easier to fix early.
Because the seat is a reclining design, make sure the recline lock engages fully after each adjustment. A partial lock can allow the seat to move during hard driving, which is especially important when harness belts are in use.
