Overview
The Rugged Ridge Heavy-Duty Shackles, part number 18265.02, are a pair of greaseable leaf spring shackles for the front or rear of Jeep CJ3, CJ5 and CJ6 vehicles and Willys CJ models. They provide 1 inch of lift and bolt on without drilling.
No bushings are included with these shackles, and the greaseable design lets you lubricate the pivot points after installation.

Pivot care after installation
A greaseable shackle pivot gets its service after installation, so plan a grease schedule as part of the job. Pump lubricant into the fitting until it shows at the pivot seal, which pushes out dirt and water. Repeat this at regular intervals, especially after mud, creek crossings or high-pressure washing.
Because no bushings come with the pair, inspect the existing bushings in the spring eyes before reassembly and replace any that are cracked or flattened. Recheck the bolts after the first few drives, since new hardware can settle. The 1 inch of lift increases the angle at the driveshaft, so inspect the U-joints and yoke for wear and vibration. Keep a note of the service dates so the pivots are greased on schedule.
