Overview
The Rubicon Express RE2775 is a greaseable rear spring shackle kit for the Jeep Wrangler (YJ), 1987 to 1995, sized 1 inch over the stock length. It is a shackle reversal kit, sold as a pair.
The shackles are angled to help achieve full travel on YJ rear springs. The kit can be used at the front or rear, and the front shackles include a cross bar for extra stability.

Shackle angle and suspension travel
A shackle is the swinging link that lets the leaf spring change length as the axle moves. Its angle affects how the spring rests at full droop and full compression, so an angled design can help the suspension reach its travel without binding. Stock shackle geometry is often a limit on articulation, which is why shackle kits are a common upgrade.
Front shackles with a cross bar add stability, and the cross bar should clear the tire and steering components at full lock. Check the bolts, bushings and side plates after the first few drives, and grease the fittings at regular service. Look for cracked welds on any reversed or angled parts, and confirm the spring is the YJ rear spring the kit is meant for.
- Grease bolts and bushings at regular service
- Check side plates for cracks after hard use
- Confirm the spring matches the kit before installing
