Overview
The Rubicon Express RE7333 is an Extreme-Duty long arm rear 3-link upgrade for the 2007 to 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK, across Rubicon, Sahara, Sport and Unlimited trims. It is built around a heavy duty axle truss, a chromoly center link and a differential support ring, and it is designed for a lift height range of 5 to 6.99 inches.
The 3-link adds articulation and control for the JK platform and improves traction by refining suspension geometry, which removes rear steer and bushing bind. It fits 9 by 3.75 to 4.75 backspacing wheels and is compatible with Extreme Duty Long Arm systems.
Key features
- Heavy duty axle truss
- Chromoly center link
- Differential support ring
- High quality hardware included
- Compatible with Extreme Duty Long Arm systems
- Lift height range 5 to 6.99 inches
Long arm geometry basics
A rear long arm 3-link setup takes over the jobs of the leaf springs or stock control arms. The long arms carry the axle fore and aft, the upper link manages pinion angle, and the axle is held in place through the truss. When these parts are matched, the axle stays square under throttle and braking, and wheel travel is less likely to bind. Because the geometry changes, pinion angle and driveshaft length should be checked by measurement after installation.
Related parts are often replaced at the same time. Rear shocks should be selected for the new axle position and travel, and brake lines and the parking brake cable may need length checks. Bushings, the track bar and the steering components are worth inspecting, since changes in rear geometry load them differently. Keep the hardware torqued and recheck it after the first few trail runs.
- Inspect bushings and bolts for cracks or looseness after each season of off-road use
- Check brake line and parking brake cable length after the axle moves
- Recheck pinion angle after any change in lift or tire size
