Description

Overview

The Pro Comp 7310 is a braided stainless steel brake hose kit for the 1989 to 1990 Ford Bronco II and the 1988 to 1996 Ford Ranger. It is built for lifted trucks, with a listed lift height of 5.

Braided stainless lines do not swell under the heavier braking pressure larger tires require, so pedal response stays quick and positive. The three hoses come together as one kit for the front and rear of the truck.

Key features

  • Stainless braid in place of the stock rubber hoses
  • Rated at a lift height of 5
  • Three hoses: front left, front right and rear
  • Direct fit
  • Resists swelling under hard braking
  • D.O.T. compliant

Hose length and fit checks

Brake hoses flex with the suspension, so the way they run matters as much as their length. On a lifted truck, the routing from the chassis to each wheel changes slightly through travel, and a hose that is correct at rest can rub when the wheel is at full droop. Lay each new hose along the old route and compare the bend before tightening any fitting.

Because the front hoses in this kit are different lengths, keep track of which hose goes to which side. Mark the lines during removal, and install the matching hose on each side. Once the hoses are connected, bleed the brakes and inspect every fitting for leaks before normal driving.

  • Label the old hoses before removing them
  • Confirm each hose clears moving parts at full travel
  • Check fittings again after the first few drives

Questions & Answers

Does the Pro Comp 7310 fit the Ford Ranger?

Yes, for 1988 to 1996. It fits those Ranger model years, and it also fits the Ford Bronco II in 1989 and 1990.

Are the front hoses in the 7310 kit the same length?

No. The front left hose is 25.25 inch and the front right hose is 26 inch. The rear hose is 26.25 inch.

Does the 7310 include a rear brake hose?

Yes. The 7310 kit contains two front hoses and one rear hose, and all three are braided stainless steel lines.

Why are the front hoses different lengths?

The front left and right hoses have different lengths in this kit, so match each one to its own side rather than swapping them. Check routing against the old hoses before tightening fittings.

Does a braided hose kit need bleeding after fitting?

Yes. Air can enter the lines when a hose is disconnected, so bleed the brakes after installation until the pedal feels firm. Check every fitting for leaks before normal driving.
