Rock sliders on the trail
Rock sliders take contact from rocks, ledges and stumps that would otherwise reach the rocker area and the lower body panels. The bare steel can be left as is for a raw, working look, or it can be painted or coated if you prefer a color match or extra corrosion resistance. Either way, the sliders are meant to absorb hits that would dent or crack the body.
After a trail run, check the slider mounts and the tube welds for bends, cracks or loose hardware. Bare steel can start to surface-rust in damp conditions, so wipe away mud and water and inspect it regularly. If you add a coating later, prepare the surface first and keep it clean for good adhesion.
