Planning the light layout
Formed plate guards with a standoff keep rock and trail debris off the rocker area while leaving space behind the guard for hardware and wiring. That gap matters on a Gladiator, since the frame and body mounts sit close to the guard and the standoff sets how far the plate sits from the rocker. Check the spacing before you commit to a light position.
Rigid lights mounted to the guard add weight and wind load, so plan mount positions that stay secure at speed on pavement as well as on rock. Use steel-rated fasteners and check them after the first few trips. Plan the wiring route before drilling, and keep the harness away from the exhaust and sharp edges.
