Replacing a worn shock grommet
Shock grommets sit between the shock eyelet and the frame or bracket, cushioning the shock from metal contact and reducing noise and vibration on the road. Over time the rubber can harden, crack or compress, which may lead to rattling over bumps or a loose shock feel. Inspect the grommet for splits, flattened sections and rubber that has pulled away from its inner sleeve.
