The Crown Automotive NV3550 output oil seal 4741118 is an output seal for the NV3550 transmission. It is designed to keep fluid in around the output shaft. It fits 2000–2001 Jeep Cherokee (XJ), 2002–2004 Jeep Liberty (KJ) and 2000–2004 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) models, in the trims covered below.

Keeping the output seal sealed
An output seal keeps transmission fluid from leaking past the output shaft where it passes into the transfer case. Leaks often show up as dark fluid on the inside of the wheel or on the transmission housing, and they can lead to low fluid and internal wear if left unattended.
Seals usually fail from age, heat or a worn shaft surface, so inspect the shaft where the lip rides for grooves or rust before fitting a new seal. Check the fluid level after replacement and watch for seepage on the first few drives. Replacing the fluid during the same job is a common practice on higher-mileage vehicles.
