Rear caliper service
A rear caliper assembly clamps the pads against the rear rotor, so a seized piston or damaged body affects only that wheel. Because a complete unit avoids the disassembly of a rebuild, the job is mainly mounting, hose connection and bleeding.
Rear brakes often wear unevenly on one side when a caliper sticks. Check the opposite caliper for the same behavior, since the pads and slide pins on both sides see similar conditions.
Brake hoses, pad hardware and the rotor should be checked when a caliper is replaced. A hose that has aged can restrict flow to the new caliper, and worn pad hardware can keep fresh pads from moving freely. Keep the bleeding order and tightening sequence consistent with the vehicle service procedure. Test the pedal and rear brake feel at low speed before normal driving.
