Long arm considerations
Long FlexArms change the leverage on the axle, so they respond more to small angle changes than shorter arms do. A long arm setup can make steering and tire wear feel different until the angles are reset. Plan the install around an alignment appointment, and bring the vehicle with the brackets already mounted so the shop can set angles with the parts in their final position.
Brackets and hardware are the part of a long arm kit that most often gets set aside. Before ordering, confirm the frame brackets, hardware and companion brackets will all be on hand, and sort them by position before starting. Models outside the JK, such as the TJ, LJ, JL and Gladiator, are not on the list. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
The arms set pinion and caster, so have an alignment shop set those angles after the arms are in. On a lifted JK, check driveline angles once the kit is installed, and keep the vehicle on stands whenever work is done underneath it.
