Overview
The Pro Comp PRO-X Twin Tube Shock Absorber, part number 929500B, is a gas charged twin tube shock with a 29.8 inch extended length and a 17.3 inch collapsed length. Pro Comp lists it for a long run of full-size Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs from 1975 through 2000, along with the 2000–2005 Ford Excursion.
Pro Comp describes the PRO-X as intended for vehicles that see a lot of paved road with the occasional off-road trip. It is a general-purpose twin tube design offered in extended lengths for lifted trucks. The shock uses 10 stage velocity sensitive valving to adjust to different road conditions, and a 5/8 inch chrome hardened piston rod with a Teflon rebound stop, which Pro Comp says gives a comfortable highway ride.
