Overview
The Power Stop Z36-1565 front brake pads are Z36 Truck and Tow disc brake pads for 2012–2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD, GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD, and select 2016–2017 SUVs.
The Z36 is a carbon fiber infused ceramic pad built for trucks and SUVs with higher gross vehicle weights. The compound runs quiet with low dust, and its pad bite is aimed at avoiding high temperature brake fade. Its coefficient of friction is 17% higher than OE pads.

Dust and noise over time
Brake dust and noise vary with pad material, rotor finish and driving style. A ceramic-based compound generally produces less visible dust than heavier metallic formulas, but it still deposits fine residue on wheels. Routine rinsing and periodic inspection keep wheels clean and make uneven pad wear easier to notice.
Noise comes from vibration between the pad and rotor, so proper installation matters. Make sure the shims sit correctly, the backing plates move freely in the bracket and the pad surfaces are clean before installation. Brake noise that appears after a few weeks may point to worn hardware or rotor glazing and is worth checking.
