Overview

Spacer and nut pairing
A wheel spacer adds distance between the hub and the wheel, so the studs and nuts must reach through the spacer and grip the wheel fully. Check stud length against the spacer and the nut before assembly, and make sure the nut does not bottom out on the spacer body. A nut that is too short can reduce thread engagement.
Stainless steel nuts resist corrosion well, but they still need inspection at each wheel service. Check the seat and thread for wear, and avoid mixing nuts from different spacers. Recheck tightness after the first drives, since spacer assemblies can settle.
