Overview
The Lange Originals Power Hoist-A-Top, part number 014-310, is a power-operated hardtop removal and storage system for one-piece hardtops. Its steel frame attaches to the vehicle top without drilling and lifts the top toward the ceiling of a garage or carport.
Removing a hardtop by hand usually takes two people, and the risks include pulled muscles, strained backs, dropped or damaged tops and pinched fingers. The Power Hoist-A-Top lets one person remove and store the top. A Balance Blade on a well-balanced steel frame supports the top, and the rear Smart Hook lets you lift and store it with the rear window closed.

Garage space and safety
Ceiling-mounted lifts depend on clear space above the vehicle, so the garage or carport height matters as much as the hoist itself. Measure the clearance, including light fixtures, door tracks and storage shelves, before raising the top. Leave room to walk around the lifted top, since it can swing slightly when moved.
Power hoists reduce the physical strain of removing a hardtop, but they still need careful attention. Check that the electrical connection is dry and sound, and keep children and pets away from the working area. Make sure the top is secure before stepping under it.
After storage, inspect the hooks and foam-covered hardware for wear, and wipe the steel frame to keep the powder coating in good condition. Recheck the hook grip before each lift, especially after a long period in storage.
