Overview
The G2 Axle and Gear 35-2050 is a master ring and pinion installation kit with bearings for the Jeep Wrangler JK (Dana 30 front axle).
The 35-2050 is a master kit, so it includes the parts needed to install a ring and pinion: pinion bearings and carrier bearings along with the shims, nut, seal and compounds. Some of the parts are hard to find and are rarely stocked by auto parts stores. It is for use in Jeep JK Dana 30 front applications only, and the ring and pinion gear set is not included.

Gear setup and break-in
Setting up a ring and pinion is precision work. Pinion depth, carrier preload and backlash all interact, and a small error can produce noise or early wear. Working from the marked gear set, measure carefully and make small shim changes, then confirm the tooth contact pattern before the axle goes back into service.
A rebuilt front axle should be run gently at first. Keep the new gears under light load for a short period, check the fluid level and temperature, and look for leaks around the pinion seal. Recheck the ring gear bolts after the first few drives, because they can loosen as the new parts settle. Gear oil should be replaced once the break-in is complete.

It fits the Jeep Wrangler JK (2007-2018) with the Dana 30 front axle. It is for the front axle only.
It is for the Wrangler JK front axle only. Vehicles such as the TJ, LJ or JL and the rear axle are outside its fit. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
A master kit such as the 35-2050 rebuilds the gear setup completely, so the bearings are replaced along with the gear set. The pinion shims, carrier shims, crush sleeve and gear marking compound in the 35-2050 are the parts used to set pinion depth, preload and the tooth contact pattern, which calls for an installer with gear setup experience and a careful break-in afterwards.
