Overview
The Energy Suspension 2.2120G is a black polyurethane leaf spring shackle bushing set. Energy Suspension says polyurethane bushings add a higher degree of performance and durability than worn or stock rubber bushings, with greater stability when maneuvering left to right and in turns.
The bushings are non-greaseable and fit front or rear leaf spring shackles when used with aftermarket shackles. No vehicle model or years are named for this set.
Key features
- Polyurethane construction in black
- Non-greaseable design
- Fits front or rear with aftermarket shackles
- Greater stability in turns, per Energy Suspension
Shackle bushing care and fit
Shackle bushings sit at the end of the leaf spring and carry the back and forth movement of the spring as the axle moves. When they wear, the shackle can feel loose, the vehicle can wander, and clunks may appear over bumps. Polyurethane bushings are firmer than rubber, so they transfer more vibration and may feel stiffer on rough pavement.
Because this is a non-greaseable design, there is no grease point to service, so inspection is visual. Look for cracking, splitting or flattening on the bushing, and check the shackle bolts for looseness. Aftermarket shackles may require a different bushing size or sleeve setup, so confirm the fit before installing.
- Check for cracks or flattening
- Inspect shackle bolts for looseness
- Confirm shackle style before ordering
- Replace bushings in pairs on each side
