Overview
The Centerforce Series II clutch kit, part CFT500500, is a full-face clutch for the 1986–1994 Nissan D21 pickup, the 1987–1996 Nissan Pathfinder and the 1995 Nissan Pickup. It uses a full facing disc with premium friction material and a pressure plate with patented centrifugal weights where applicable.
Patented machining raises the static clamp load, which supports holding power and clutch life. The kit suits selected street and strip, off-road and towing applications.
Key features
- Full facing disc with premium friction materials
- Pressure plate with patented centrifugal weights, where applicable
- Static clamp load raised through patented machining processes
- Intended for selected street/strip, off-road and towing applications
- Fits Nissan D21, Pathfinder and pickup models from 1986 to 1996
Clutch wear and replacement timing
Clutch wear shows up gradually. Slipping under load, a pedal that engages higher than before, and a burning smell are early signs that the friction material is wearing thin. Once slipping starts, heat builds on the flywheel and pressure plate, so waiting too long can turn a disc job into a larger repair.
Pedal feel depends on the release system. Hydraulic or cable linkage that sticks or traps air can make a new clutch feel heavy, so inspect the release components during service. Full facing discs spread the load across the face and suit heavier use, though the friction material still needs care. Avoid riding the clutch in traffic, and let it fully engage before accelerating.
- Check the clutch for slip on a hill
- Look for changes in pedal travel
- Inspect the release bearing for noise

Vehicle fitment
It fits the 1986–1994 Nissan D21, the 1987–1996 Nissan Pathfinder and the 1995 Nissan Pickup.
Model years outside these ranges, and Nissan models not named here, are not on the list. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
Replacing a clutch means removing the transmission, so inspect the flywheel, pilot bearing and throwout bearing while it is out. Align the disc with a clutch alignment tool before the pressure plate bolts are tightened.
What’s included
Compare the parts received against your old clutch before installation.
