Overview
The BD Diesel Xtruded Trans Oil Cooler, part number 1030606-3/8, is a remote transmission oil cooler with a copper and aluminum tube and fin core. It is paired with a high flow 650 CFM electric fan.
Cooler oil temperatures can contribute to longer transmission life, and this remote cooler is built for towing and pulling heavy loads. It is a direct fit with electric fan.
Key features
- Large capacity copper and aluminum tube and fin core
- High flow 650 CFM electric fan
- Remote cooler designed for towing and heavy loads, per BD
- Maximum cooling in any environment, per BD
Remote cooler setup and airflow
A remote cooler moves the heat exchange away from the transmission, so the placement of the core and its fan decides how well it works. Set the core where it catches moving air, such as in front of the radiator, and keep it away from exhaust heat. Clean, unobstructed airflow matters more than the fan size alone.
The electric fan needs a dependable power feed, so plan the wiring, fuse and switch before mounting anything. Secure the lines so they cannot rub on the chassis, and leave slack for engine movement. Check the bracket after a few trips, because vibration can loosen the mounting hardware.
- Wire the fan before mounting the core
- Leave slack in lines for engine movement
- Check fittings for leaks after the first drive

Vehicle fitment
It is a direct fit with electric fan. Confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim, and compare the mounting footprint with your vehicle before ordering.
Compare the cooler’s mounting footprint and fan clearance with your vehicle before fitting. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
The electric fan needs its own power feed, so plan that wiring before mounting the core. Keep the remote cooler where airflow reaches the core, and route the lines away from heat sources.
What’s included
The cooler comes with its electric fan. Plan for hoses, fittings and wiring separately, and check the package contents when unpacking.
