Overview
The G2 Axle and Gear AAM Master Conversion Rear Install Kit is a master installation kit for the rear axle of the 2014–2016 Dodge Ram 2500 3/4 ton, used to run an early style 11.5-inch ring and pinion in the new 11.8-inch housing.
G2 describes its master installation kits as everything needed to set up a ring and pinion, including Timken bearings, ring gear bolts, shims for pinion and carrier preload, a pinion seal and a pinion nut. Installation notes
Because the kit includes bearings and shims, it is intended for jobs where the bearings are replaced and preload is set. That work usually goes to an experienced gear installer.
