Overview
The Rugged Ridge 13712.15 is a black rear upper soft door frame for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler (JK), in two-door and Unlimited four-door models. It is the rear counterpart to the front upper soft door and uses a powder-coated steel frame.
A complete soft upper door pairs a paintable thermoplastic skin, a zippered window and a textured inner panel with this frame. This is a door frame only, so the skin and window are not in the set. Confirm what you need to complete the door before planning the installation.

Finishing and painting a rear frame
A rear upper door frame is usually finished after it is mounted, since masking and paint work are easier on a fitted door. The matte black surface can be painted to match the body, but plastic-type skins need a suitable primer and a flexible topcoat so the finish does not crack when the door flexes. Test any paint on a hidden area first.
Prep the surfaces by cleaning off oil, wax and dust, then lightly scuffing before priming. Protect the window, weather stripping and hinge areas with masking. Keep paint coats thin and allow each to cure before the next. Once painted, check that the door still closes evenly and the seals still seat, since paint build-up can change fit.
