Description

Overview

The Power Stop Z36-1414 front brake pads are Z36 Truck and Tow disc brake pads for 2010–2018 Ford F-150, Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.

The Z36 pads are made for vehicles working at higher gross vehicle weights, and the strong pad bite helps reduce high temperature brake fade. The compound has a coefficient of friction 17 percent higher than OE pads.

Key features

  • Carbon and ceramic friction formula
  • Thermal scorched finish
  • Chamfered and slotted like the OE pads
  • Powdercoated backing plate
  • Noise insulating shims
  • Hi-temp lubricant included
  • Direct fit with the stock caliper, front position

Ford front axle considerations

Front brake pads on full-size Ford trucks and SUVs work hardest when the vehicle is heavily loaded or pulling a trailer down a grade. Front axles usually carry more braking force than the rear, so pads and rotors wear faster in that position. Matching the pad to the caliper and rotor keeps the system balanced.

Before installation, clean the caliper bracket and slide surfaces so the new pads move freely. Check the rotor for heat cracks, deep grooves or uneven thickness. Using the supplied hi-temp lubricant on the slide contact points helps prevent sticking, and the noise insulating shims should sit correctly behind the pads.

  • Inspect the caliper piston boot for tears
  • Replace rotors when they fall below minimum thickness
  • Test the brakes at low speed before highway use

Questions & Answers

Which vehicles does the Power Stop Z36-1414 fit?

The Z36-1414 front pads fit 2010-2018 Ford F-150, Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. Confirm fit for your vehicle's year, model and trim before ordering.

Is the Z36-1414 a front or rear brake pad?

Front. The Z36-1414 sits in the front position and is made to work with the stock caliper. It is a direct-fit upgrade, so the existing caliper and bracket stay in place. Make sure your year, model and trim are covered before ordering.

Is the Z36-1414 designed for towing?

Yes, Power Stop designed the Z36 line, including the Z36-1414, for drivers who haul loads, tow trailers or drive in the hills. The Z36-1414 pads use a carbon and ceramic formula that Power Stop aims at high temperature brake fade.

How do I know if front pads are wearing unevenly?

Uneven wear often shows as one pad thinner than the other, or a pull to one side during braking. A sticking caliper slide can cause this. Inspect both sides of the axle at each service and correct the cause before replacing the pads again.
