Overview
The Daystar KJ02019BK turns ordinary shackles into greaseable shackles using black polyurethane bushings. The kit includes 8 bushings, 4 grade 5 bolts with grease fittings and 4 locking nuts.
The greaseable design is meant to cut binding, squeaking and corrosion compared with stock rubber. The shackle bushings are fluted for even lubrication.

Greasing and service intervals
Grease is the main way greasable shackle bushings stay in good condition. The bolts carry the grease fittings, so lubrication is done with a grease gun after the shackles are assembled. Fluted surfaces help the grease spread across the bushing, but the bushing still needs to be checked for dryness and wear over time.
Service intervals depend on how the vehicle is used. Trucks that see mud, sand or frequent water crossings tend to need more attention than vehicles on pavement. A simple routine of checking the fittings, greasing the joints and looking for play at the shackle pin will catch most problems early.
