Working with coil suspension
Air springs fit alongside the existing coil springs, so the coil spring rates and the truck’s factory suspension geometry still shape the ride. Before work begins, lift and support the truck securely, and confirm that the jack and stands are rated for the vehicle. Keep the mounting bolts clean so they can be tightened properly.
Polyurethane springs are durable but can be damaged by sharp edges, heat and fuel or oil contact. Keep the springs away from exhaust parts and inspect them during tire rotations. Check the bump stops and shocks as well, because worn parts change how the rear suspension handles added support. A regular look at the mounts and hardware helps catch wear early.
