Overview
The Poison Spyder BFH front bumper with shackle tabs and Trail Stinger, part number 14-16-020-DS, is a one-piece bare steel crawler bumper from Poison Spyder Customs. The BFH design is built for serious four-wheelers who value strength, simplicity and function.
Poison Spyder cuts the BFH bumper on a CNC laser from one piece of high strength 3/16-inch plate steel and brake-forms it for an exact fit. The bumper is no wider than the frame rails and its angled facets help it slide over rocks. An integrated winch mount is part of the design.
The Trail Stinger is 17 inches high from the top surface of the bumper and projects 13.4 inches ahead of its front edge. The design is well established on Jeep builds. The recovery shackle tabs are 1-inch thick plate steel, sized for 3/4-inch recovery shackles.

Before you mount a bumper
A front bumper is one of the first parts that takes hits on steep trails, so its mounting points and welds carry real load. Before fitting one, confirm the mounts line up with your frame and that the winch will sit square to the bumper face. Plan to have the bare steel coated before the vehicle sees mud, because raw steel starts to rust quickly once scraped.
Many builders replace the bumper along with the winch mount hardware, the recovery points and any lighting brackets, since these share the same load path. Check them for cracks or loose bolts after each season of hard use. A bumper that has been pushed into a rock or tree should be inspected before it is trusted for another recovery.
