Replacing a sidemarker lens
A sidemarker lens is a small amber lens on the side of the body that helps other drivers see the vehicle at an angle. Lenses on older Cherokees often crack from heat cycles, sun exposure and impact with brush. A cracked lens lets moisture in behind the housing, which can fog the lamp and corrode the socket over time, so replacing the lens early keeps the lamp working reliably.
