Overview
The Cobra 29 LTD CHR is a 40-channel CB radio with chrome styling, part number 29LTDCHR, built for professional drivers who want chrome in the cab. It is universal fit, so it is not matched to a particular year, make or model.
Cobra builds the 29 Classic on its original design, which the brand says has been known for performance and durability. Driver-requested improvements have been added over the years. The chrome version adds a chrome cabinet, a chrome microphone, a blue channel display and signal strength meter, and talk-back. An analog signal meter swings in step with incoming receive and outgoing transmit signal levels, and it also shows the standing wave ratio of the antenna system. SWR, or standing wave ratio, measures how well the antenna matches the radio, and the warning indicator flags a poor match. RF gain adjusts how strongly weak incoming signals are amplified, and Dynamike boost helps keep communication loud and clear.

Setting up the antenna match
SWR tells you how well the antenna matches the radio, and a poor match can reduce range and send more power back into the radio. Set up the antenna first, then run the calibration with the radio on a stable power supply. Cable length and mounting height often change the reading more than the radio does, so recheck after any change to the mount, cable or antenna.
Chrome finishes need care too. Clean the chrome cabinet and microphone with a soft cloth to prevent water spots and grime from building up in the cab. Avoid abrasive cleaners, and dry the mic after washing the truck so moisture does not reach the connector.
