Description

Overview

The Falcon Sport 06-04-32-400-002 is a Ram 1500 suspension system with monotube front shock absorbers and adjustable piggyback rear shock absorbers. It fits 2009–2010 and 2011–2018 Ram 1500 trucks. The rear shocks can be set for comfort and control or for towing and hauling, and the monotube fronts keep front damping simple.

The rear shocks have a three-position Fast Adjust Knob for Comfort and Control, Moderate Tow and Haul, and Heavy Tow and Haul. The system uses Falcon’s Zone Rate Tuning to change the factory linear-rate spring into three performance zones, and it is designed to reduce top-out clunk, body roll and bottoming out. The Extension Zone is where the internal negative-rate spring works, and the Drive Zone leaves the factory spring rate unchanged, which TeraFlex says keeps the ride comfortable.

Key features

  • Monotube front shock absorbers
  • Adjustable piggyback rear shock absorbers with a three-position Fast Adjust Knob
  • Zone Rate Tuning with three performance zones
  • Progressive microcellular bump stop for compression
  • Volume Optimized Damping for low-speed feedback and control
  • Designed for Ram 1500 trucks from 2009 to 2018

Towing setup and rear shocks

Rear shock settings affect how the truck handles a load. The Comfort and Control setting suits daily driving, while the tow and haul settings firm up the rear for heavier loads. Changing the setting to match the load keeps the rear controlled without treating every trip the same way.

Shocks wear over time, and a worn rear shock can make a loaded truck feel bouncy or slow to settle. Look for fluid leaks on the piggyback bodies, uneven rear ride height, and rebound that feels floaty. Keep the front and rear shocks matched as a set, and inspect the bump stop when the shocks are serviced.

  • Use the Comfort and Control setting for daily driving.
  • Use a tow and haul setting when carrying or towing heavier loads.
  • Check the rear for leaks and uneven ride height.

Vehicle fitment

It fits the 2009–2010 Dodge Ram 1500 in the Laramie, SLT, ST, Sport, TRX and TRX4 trims, and the 2011–2018 Ram 1500 across its trims.

The system is for Ram 1500 trucks only. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.

Installation notes

The system replaces the front and rear shocks as a set. The rear shocks use the included progressive microcellular bump stop, so the spring behavior changes only with that bump stop in place.

What’s included

The monotube front shock absorbers, the adjustable piggyback rear shock absorbers with the Fast Adjust Knob, and the progressive microcellular bump stop, sold together as one set.

Questions & Answers

Is the Falcon Sport tow and haul system for towing only?

No. The rear shocks have a Comfort and Control setting for daily driving, and the Moderate and Heavy Tow and Haul settings are for heavier loads.

What does the Fast Adjust Knob do?

It selects one of three rear shock settings: Comfort and Control, Moderate Tow and Haul, or Heavy Tow and Haul, so the driver can match the setting to the load.

Does this system fit a 2015 Ram 1500?

Yes. It fits the 2011–2018 Ram 1500, which includes 2015, across the trims covered. It is for Ram 1500 trucks, so other Ram models are not covered.

How often should the shocks be inspected?

Inspect them at regular service intervals and whenever the ride changes. Check for fluid leaks, worn mounting bushings, and bouncing that continues after a bump. Tow or haul use may mean more frequent checks.

Can I drive with the rear setting on tow and haul when unloaded?

Yes, but a firmer setting can feel stiff on rough pavement with no load. Many drivers return to Comfort and Control when the truck is empty, and the setting is easy to change at the knob.
