Description

Overview

The Rubicon Express RXT2750B is a front twin tube shock absorber with a 26.5 inch extended length, a 15.5 inch collapsed length and an 11.0 inch stroke. It is gas charged and built on a slim black body, and it comes with a black urethane shock boot and the mounting hardware.

This front twin tube shock replaces the earlier Rubicon Express twin tube model. It is set up for a 2.5 inch lift.

Key features

  • Slim black body
  • Black urethane shock boot included
  • Gas charged twin tube design
  • Stem top and eyelet bottom mounts
  • Mounting hardware included

Choosing the right front shock

A front shock damps the springs and controls how the axle settles after bumps and dips. Matching the shock to the lift height matters because the extension and compression range must suit the travel the suspension uses. A shock that is too short for the setup can bottom out, while one that is too long can bind at the mounts.

Front shocks are exposed to grit and water, so the boot and seals take a lot of punishment. Inspect the boot at each service and replace it when it tears. Check the mounting hardware and bushings during the same inspection, since worn mounts can make a new shock feel loose.

  • Confirm lift height before buying
  • Check the boot for cuts or tears
  • Inspect mounting hardware and bushings

Questions & Answers

Does the RXT2750B fit a 2021 Jeep Gladiator?

Yes. It fits 2020–2022 Jeep Gladiator models, so a 2021 Gladiator is covered for the 2.5 inch lift. It also fits 2018 and 2020–2022 Wrangler JL models.

Is a shock boot included?

Yes. The shock comes with a black urethane shock boot, and the mounting hardware is included. The boot matches the slim black body of the shock.

Is this a replacement for the earlier Rubicon Express twin tube shock?

Yes. It takes the place of the earlier Rubicon Express twin tube shock, so it works as a running replacement for that model.

What are the extended and collapsed lengths?

The extended length is 26.5 inches and the collapsed length is 15.5 inches, with an 11.0 inch stroke. The shock is gas charged and is set up for a 2.5 inch lift.

How often should a front shock be inspected?

Check it whenever you service the front end or after rough trail use. Look for oil on the shock body, a torn boot, or worn mounting bushings. Wear on the boot lets grit into the shaft, so replace a damaged boot promptly.
