Description

Overview

The Rubicon Express RE7143M is a 3.5-inch Super-Flex short arm suspension lift kit with monotube shocks for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-door. It fits the 70th Anniversary, 75th Anniversary, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, Sport S and X trims in the 4-door body.

The short arm layout keeps the factory mounting locations. The kit adds adjustable control arms, Super-Flex spherical ball joints, replacement lift springs and longer front and rear stainless steel brake lines.

The specifications list monotube shocks at the front and the rear, a 35-inch tire size and a lift height range of 0 to 3.5 inches. The shocks are part of the kit, so the damping is matched to the lift.

Key features

  • 3.5-inch Super-Flex short arm lift
  • Monotube shocks at the front and rear, included
  • Adjustable control arms with Super-Flex spherical ball joints
  • Replacement lift springs and extended bump stops
  • Longer front and rear stainless steel brake lines

Driveline and brake line care

Longer brake lines are a common reason to inspect the whole hydraulic system after a lift. Stainless lines resist corrosion better than rubber, but they still need to be routed clear of the springs, the axle housing and the steering components. Check for rubbing at full compression, and make sure the line has enough slack at full droop so it does not pull at the fittings.

The driveline usually needs attention too. A higher ride height changes the angle at the transfer case and the pinion, which can add vibration at highway speed. Inspect the U-joints and the slip yoke for play after the first few drives, and keep the driveshafts balanced. Regular greasing and a quick look at the bump stops on rough roads are inexpensive habits that catch wear early.

Questions & Answers

Does the Rubicon Express RE7143M fit a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara?

Yes. It fits the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara in the 4-door body, which covers 2018 trucks. The 2-door Sahara trims are not part of this fit, so confirm fit for your vehicle's year, model and trim before ordering.

Are shocks included with the kit?

Yes. The specifications list monotube shocks at the front and rear as included, and the title names monotube shocks. Both ends are covered by the same shock type.

What tire size does the kit list?

The specifications list a 35-inch tire size, and the lift height range is 0 to 3.5 inches. The title gives a 3.5-inch Super-Flex lift for the 4-door trims.

Do the monotube shocks need periodic service?

Monotube shocks are sealed units that are normally replaced rather than rebuilt. Check for oil seepage, a knocking feel over bumps and uneven rebound from side to side. Replacing both shocks on an axle at the same time keeps the damping balanced.
