Overview
The Rubicon Express RE7140PT is a 2.5 inch super-flex suspension lift with twin tube shocks for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler (JK) Unlimited four-door. The lift height range is 0 to 3.5 inches, and it is designed for 35-inch tires. It is a short arm system that keeps the factory mounting points and lowers the center of gravity compared with taller long arm kits.
The kit uses adjustable upper and lower control arms with PT-Meg bushings, serviceable super-flex joints, an adjustable front track bar and tuned progressive coil springs. The twin tube shocks are the damping choice in this version; the control arms, track bar and coil springs match the other RE7140 kits.

Twin tube shocks and damping
Twin tube shocks use an inner and outer tube with oil moving between them, a layout used on production vehicles for many years. They are a simpler design than many remote reservoir shocks, which many owners find straightforward to inspect. On this kit the shocks sit at both the front and rear, so the ride stays matched across the vehicle.
Changing control arms and coil springs changes the suspension geometry, so alignment and driveline angles should be checked after installation. Shock damping should suit the spring rate and the tire size, so avoid adding much larger tires without considering the overall setup. Look for oil on the shock bodies, uneven tire wear, or a ride that keeps bouncing after a bump as signs the shocks need attention.
