Driveline after lifting
A rear block lift moves the axle away from the transmission and transfer case, which changes the working angles of the driveshafts. Tapered blocks are shaped to reduce that change, but the final angles still depend on the vehicle and its springs.
After installation, measure the driveshaft angles at each end and note them. Vibration at highway speed often points to an angle problem, and a worn U-joint can make it worse. Inspect the joints for play and replace any that feel loose before the lift is considered finished.
Brake hoses and the parking brake cable also need slack at the new height. Check them at full droop and full compression, and recheck the U-bolts after the first few drives. Keep a short log of readings so changes are easy to spot at later service.
