Description

Overview

The Power Stop Z36-1333 front brake pads are Z36 Truck and Tow disc brake pads for 2008–2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty and 2008–2012 Ford F-350 Super Duty.

The Z36 line is designed for drivers who haul loads, tow trailers or drive in the hills and want extra stopping power. The Z36 compound has a coefficient of friction 17 percent above that of original-equipment pads.

Key features

  • Carbon and ceramic friction formula
  • Thermal scorched finish
  • Chamfered and slotted like the OE pads
  • Powdercoated backing plate
  • Noise insulating shims
  • Hi-temp lubricant included
  • Direct fit with the stock caliper, front position

Heavy-duty brake setup

Super Duty pickups carry heavy loads and tow substantial trailers, so the front brakes do a large share of the work on long grades. Carbon and ceramic compounds are generally chosen for lower dust and quieter operation than many metallic pads, although they are a different formula from a high-load metallic compound. Match the pad style to how the truck is actually used before buying.

Brake service on a truck this size goes beyond the pads. Inspect the rotors for thickness and heat damage, check the caliper slide pins for smooth movement, and look at the brake lines for wear. Brake fluid that has absorbed moisture can reduce braking performance under repeated stops, so consider its condition at the same time.

Questions & Answers

Which vehicles does the Power Stop Z36-1333 fit?

The Z36-1333 front pads fit 2008–2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty and 2008–2012 Ford F-350 Super Duty. Confirm your year, model and trim before you choose these pads.

Is the Z36-1333 a front or rear brake pad?

Front. The Z36-1333 is a front-position pad made to work with the stock caliper, and it is a direct-fit upgrade.

Is the Z36-1333 designed for towing?

Yes, Power Stop designed the Z36 line, including the Z36-1333, for drivers who haul loads, tow trailers or drive in the hills. The Z36-1333 pads use a carbon and ceramic formula that Power Stop aims at high temperature brake fade.

Do front pads need to be replaced in pairs?

Yes. Replace both front pads at the same time, since uneven pad material can pull the truck under braking. Check the rotors on both sides as well, and use the same pad compound on both wheels so braking stays predictable.
